‘In my horse paintings I use a generous amount of water in my brush strokes, creating very bold lines and really allowing the ink to shine, so that the horse's form and structure is dynamically displayed. I also use gestural strokes to invoke a sense of wind, particularly through the horse's mane and tail, creating a musical and dance-like quality.'
